FAQ

Here are some of the most common CollabGPS FAQs, from security to scheduling.
Why is CollabGPS not free?
It’s important that we keep CollabGPS for those that specifically create content or are looking to start creating content. Having free accounts opens up the platform for all sorts of people to jump on out of curiosity just to see who might be near them, or trying to find their favorite stars and bother them. In addition, having a free option also opens the platform to spam accounts. Our goal is to make this platform a thriving space for content creators without noise or distraction – the very reason why we feel like the platform is important!
If I create an account on the web version, can I access the app (and vice-verse)
Yes, whenever you initially create your account, your login will work across all platforms.
Can I access the web version on my phone’s browser?
Technically, yes but it’s not recommended. The web version is designed for larger screens so more information – such as the calendar- can always be displayed. If you want to use CollabGPS on your phone, we highly recommend downloading the app.
I can’t find a tag I need.
If there is a tag that we missed and you would find helpful, please email us and we’ll look into it! feedback@collabgps.com
There’s no one on!
The big challenge in starting a new platform is building that userbase. It may be slow at the start, but we encourage you to check our referral program. Go to “refer and earn” and customize your code to your liking and start spreading the word and make money while doing it! We are confident that we can build a strong and large community of content creators.
Am I able to participate in the referral program even though I’m not in the U.S.?
Yes! As long as you have a Paypal account, we can send payouts if you are outside of the U.S. Please note that Paypal does subtract a small fee for payouts so that will be deducted once you receive the funds. For those in the U.S. we strongly encourage selecting Venmo as your option as Venmo does not charge a fee for receiving funds (although you are still welcome to choose Paypal if you prefer and are ok with the fee).
What kind of privacy settings does CollabGPS offer?
We value and respect anyone who would like to use the platform in a more private fashion. You have the option to not appear on the grid if you would prefer (access the side menu and turn on “Off Grid”). If you would like to be on the grid, but not have your distance show on your CollabCard, please go to the privacy settings and enable “Hide My Distance”. Distance calculated also does not go below the 1 mile mark so no one can “track” how close you are by showing how many feet you may be from any particular user. If you do not want to appear in the “Visiting Soon” grid of a city you are planning a trip to, you can also opt out of that by selecting “I do not want to appear” in the “Visiting Soon Visibility” privacy option. Finally, you also have the option to receive message requests first that you must approve before any chat is visible to you.
One of my photos was flagged as NSFW (i.e. “explicit”) but I don’t believe it should have been.
Our system allows users to upload NSFW photos of themselves which you can voluntarily mark as NSFW. Any photos marked this way will be blurred for users and can be revealed if the user has gone through the process of ID Verification. A photo that is not marked as NSFW will go through an automated photo-check and could be flagged as NSFW and auto-blurred. We do have to cater to the rules set-forth by the App Stores (even if you are using the web version) so CollabGPS can be on as many platforms as possible, but if you feel like your photo was marked NSFW in error, please reach out and we will take a look: feedback@collabgps.com
